Brotherhood of Our Lady of Scherpenheuvel

The current board consists of Marie-Paule Verhoeven, Jean-Marie Wielemans, Ludo Rutten and Erwin Vandecauter.

The brotherhood of Scherpenheuvel cannot be disconnected from the pilgrimage with the same name. In the past it took place on the Sunday before Pentecost and involved a Eucharist, praying the Rosary or a meditation near the basilica, lunch in Scherpenheuvel, a cultural visit and a coffee to finish.

In 2018 we decided to stop organizing the pilgrimage because of waning interest. The age of most of our members was the principal cause.

The brotherhood still exists and we continue the tradition of organizing an annual mass on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, although it was not possible in 2021, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
