Tourist visit 2023

gepost op: 18 April 2022

The Saint Paul’s church and its enthusiastic Sint-Paulus friends are happy to help you to make it a wonderful visit.

Our church is easily accessible for those who walk, cycle or take public transport. Cars can park further away. The site is also easily accessible for wheelchair users along the gate on the corner of Zwartzustersstraat and Veemarkt (which used to be the access for everyone). Call 0470/908700 during opening hours and we will open the gate for you and guide you to the wheelchair lift.

Tourist visit:

From November 1 to March 31, the church is open during the weekend and the holidays from 2 pm to 5 pm. The church is open every day from April 1 to October 31, from 2 pm to 5 pm. The entrance  is past the large gate next to Sint-Paulusstraat 22. You walk in through the gate and enter the large, quiet Lourdes garden, with a beautiful view of the church, its tower and the monastery ruins.

Please note: changes in opening hours due to concerts, etc. are possible. So check our calendar!

Sunday Mass:

Every Sunday at 10:30 am
During all Sunday masses, music is played in St. Paul’s Church. This can be organ accompaniment by our organist or a mass with soloists or choir. On seven Catholic heydays, we offer an orchestra mass during Mass! Be sure to keep an eye on our calendar so you don’t miss out! All Masses are, of course, free for everyone. Along the Sint-Paulusstraat or the corner of Veemarkt/Zwartzusterstraat

Tickets for tourist visit:

5 euros for a standard ticket
3 euros per person for groups from 15 people and for students
Free for young people up to the age of 18, people accompanying wheelchair users, ICOM, Antwerp City Pass and A-kaart

Free for everyone during:

• Religious ceremonies
• Catholic holidays (see calendar)
• The first Tuesday of every month (depending on the season)
• Cultural events in which Saint Paul participates (see calendar)

Crypt and the archaeological site:

On (Friday) Saturday and Sunday, the Friends of Saint Paul offer guided tours for individual visitors in the crypt and the archaeological site. There is a fixed tour at 3 p.m., but depending on the number of guides at work, additional tours can be organized in an afternoon. The number of participants per guided tour is limited to eight. Because of the stairs, it is only suitable for people with a good physical condition. Participation is included in the entrance fee of the church. Practical: to give every visitor a chance to participate, we do not work with advance reservations. At the cash register, the visitor can register on site for these guided tours before or after purchasing an entrance ticket.

If you wish to visit the crypt in a group, please contact sintpaulusvrienden@sintpaulusantwerpen.be
