Concert – Violinist Eliot Lawson & Symphony

Violinist Eliot Lawson (°1978) was selected as an 11-year-old by the famous Sir Yehudi Menuhin. He has already filled our church several times with beautiful music.

Lawson has been appointed professor of violin this year at the École Supérieure des Arts of Mons (Mons). To celebrate this, he will return to Saint Paul on Sunday 30 October, together with the symphonic orchestra Orchester d’Arts² of the Mons Conservatory.

Conducted by Nicolas Krüger (°1972), music director and permanent conductor of the Leipziger Symphonieorchester since September 2018, they pay tribute to César Franck, whose 200th birthday we are celebrating this year, and his ‘bande à Franck’. In the second half of the 19th century they pursued the renewal of French classical music.

On the program:

Symphony in Re, César Franck
Poème Op.25, Amédée-Ernest Chausson
(violin solo Eliot Lawson)
Fantaisie sur deux airs angevins, Guillaume Lekeu
