Violinist Eliot Lawson & symphony in concert

gepost op: 22 October 2022

Eliot Lawson (°1978) was selected at the age of 11 by the famous Sir Yehudi Menuhin. This year he was appointed professor of violin at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. To celebrate this, he will return to Saint Paul on Sunday 30 October with the Orchester d’Arts² symphonic orchestra of the Mons Conservatory.

Conducted by Nicolas Krüger (°1972), music director and permanent conductor of the Leipziger Symphonieorchester since September 2018, they pay tribute to César Franck, whose 200th birthday we celebrate this year and his ‘bande à Franck’. In the second half of the 19th century they pursued the renewal of French classical music.

On the program is:

Symphony in Re, César Franck
Poème Op.25, Amédée-Ernest Chausson
(violin solo Eliot Lawson)
Fantaisie sur deux airs angevins, Guillaume Lekeu
